not without significant modification. The width is wrong and the trailarm mounting locations are all wrong. You would be better off finding an 8 7/8" 10 bolt posi out of a 77-90 wagon (though the wheel bolt pattern is 5" instead of 4.75"). I have also heard that with the exception of the ABS sensor mounted in the nose of the gear housing, the 91-96 B body rears will also fit (all 91-96 B bodies are 5" bolt pattern as well).
more than likely it's a 3.08 gear in the rearend.
Not without major modifications.
It's definitely a 10 bolt rear end and could be a 7.5 or 8.2".
Historically, those two cars had the same size wheels on them, so yes.
There is no such thing as a 2008 Monte Carlo, so the answer would be no.

rear what? the backend of the car or the drivetrain rearend?

No
There will be no 2007 Chevy Monte Carlo. The Monte Carlo has been discontinued and 2006 was the last production year. There are 2007 Monte Carlo's. They may have been made in 2006 but there are 2007 models.
78-87 Monte Carlo is a G-Body GM car that is smaller than a 77-90 Caprice which is a B-Body GM car. The seats in a Monte Carlo will fit in a Caprice, but they may not look quite right. You will need to do bolt location modifications. I would not recommend trying to use a bench seat from a Monte in a Caprice. It is not wide enough.
