If your parents still think you need a babysitter then they probably have their reasons. you need to earn their trust. This is done by good grades in school and good behavior. i would suggest asking them first if they think you are doing a good job in school and what could you do to make things easier around the house? If they see that you are stepping up your maturity level they may decide that it is okay to leave you home alone. If you are only feeling this way because your friends are making fun of you, try not to let it bother you. your parents do it because they love and care about you. many kids get left home alone at a young age and end up screwing up big time with lifelong effects. be a good kid and they will trust you. also, i feel bad for the kid who ed before me. please stay grounded and safe. it is terrible that your parents don't care what you do. As a parent, even though my son was 13, leaving him home alone depended on the amount of time we planned to be gone as well as the time of day. Usually, there was an older boy in the neighborhood who was willing to "babysit," although they ended up eating Pizza, playing Video Games and watching movies. And that was not an issue. Most times, though, if it was a daytime shopping trip for an hour or so, we left him home alone since it was a reasonable amount of time.
