  • Considering the wedding is this coming Saturday there is something else going on with your fiance. It is possible his family is not happy with his choice for his bride. He is not telling you the whole truth. It is unusual that the whole family would not be able to make the wedding ceremony. You need to sit down with your fiance and discuss what the real problem is. He may have cold feet or, again, his family may not approve of you. If he loves you he should marry you whether his family comes or not. If it is true the family doesn't want to come it is rude no matter what their feelings are.

How many bar mitzvahs are on the birthday?

Every Jewish boy who has ever been bar mitzvah in over 3,000 years has been bar mitzvah on or immediately after his 13th birthday - because that is exactly what it is - it means you have reached the age of 13. The ceremony that usually accompanies this normally takes place on the first Saturday after the boys 13th birthday - but it doesn't have to. After all, what is the ceremony anyway? All it means is that you are participating in a part of the normal Shabbat (Saturday) service - but you have to be 13 years old or more to be able to do so. By participating in this way you are now showing the world that you are now a man.
