You woke up with a swollen eye and it hurts what should you do?

It's probably a sty, if there was nothing there when you went to sleep. A sty is like a pimple on the eye. Drink plenty of water and let it be. Don't touch it/mess with it. It'll clear out on its own.

∙ 14y agoIt would be best if you went to the doctors. However, if you really feel the need to cure it on your own, I would suggest just to place ice in a towel, over top of the eyelid. Don't touch or rub your eye too much, for you don't want to get dirt in it and other bacteria that may infect it some more. You could either have a sty, or pink eye if you notice a white zit pimple on the lid somewhere; or if the eye is flush pink in color where the white should be. If anything, it could also be due to Allergies, if it is puffy, and allergy eye drops, such as visine work well.

∙ 13y agoIt may be irritated or have something inside it. Try keeping your eyes closed for a while, or blink rapidly. If that fails, run cold water over your face or message your temples.
