Your 2000chevy silvaradoZ71 kepps kicking check engine when you check with scanner you get evap this only started when you changed the fuel pump and once when you hit your brakes really hard any ideas?

There is a good chance that you have a leak in the system. What I have heard is if you don't get your gas cap tight it will trip the Light. Somewhere in the system it has a vacuum sensor, cause that part of the Evap is under vacuum. When the pump was replaced you have to open the top of the tank, and if you don't get the rubber o-ring seal grease up good or replace it and grease it you stand a chance of a leak. Check all of the hose connections to make sure that they are tight. Look for any cracks in the hoses as well. It is going to be a pain and you might have to drop the tank to make sure the top is sealed. Let us all know what you find out.

It will if you are free reving the engine with out it being in gear. If you are driving it hard down the road and it is kicking in then you may need to have the engine scanned with an OBDII engine scanner and make sure you don't have a problem in the system.
