You say it cut's out only going up hills, but on the flat ground it is fine. Well, just a guess here, but if it runs well other than on hills, then check the carb. bowl's for dirt that might move to the back of the bowl and block the jet's. If that is the problem, change the fuel filter after.

Hi where is Idle Air Control Valve in 1995 Chevy G20 5.7L and is it possible to clean it?
I found the IAC valve on the throttle body right below the air cleaner and above the EGR valve. I removed it with a large wrench, 1 1/4" if I recall correctly and sprayed it down with carb cleaner and scrubbed it with a brush. I will probably use electrical contact cleaner spray the next time I clean it so I won't have to worry about the contacts.
