If you've locked your SIM card (by entering your code wrongly) - you need to contact your network provider on another phone - and ask them for your phone unlock key (PUK).
No it does not. I have the impact in blue and this phone does not work if a sim card is not inserted or if the sim is blocked.
It means that the Sim card is blocked by the network provider and it cannot be used
if you write your Sim card code or PUK code incorrectly many times your whole Sim card is blocked!! i suggest you should get new Sim card instead.

You can - but that will also be blocked. The way to unblock your original SIM - is to contact your service provider. Depending on whether this is the first time, they may charge you to unblock it. It is the phone itself that is blocked - not the SIM card.
You have to change the sim card. Once you're puk blocked, you're blocked forever.
well da idot.
Search your Puk which should be on your mobile bundle. ( Sim card in standard card format)
the iphone has a sim card which slots in the top of the iphone. to get the sim card tray out you have to use a pin or the special tool it came with to open it.
All your contacts/messages and other information aren't stored on a SIM - card, these data are stored in the mobile phone itself.
The old SIM card will still be programmed with the original phone number. Either SIM will work in the phone - unless the old SIM is blocked by the network when they issued the new one.
To change the sim card on your iPhone simply open it at the back remove the battery and replace your sim card.
