Are you certain that the alternator is connected properly? Is the keyswitch working properly? Does your alternator have an internal or external regulator. How old is the battery? If it's about 3 years old, especially if you live where you have a real winter, about 3 years is all you can expect out of a battery, and it will just collapse and die. Auto Zone will check your battery out for free if you take it in. I wouldn;t have just replaced the alternator unless I knew that was the problem. Phil
it's easy to change fan belts that is connected to the alternator two bolts
I had the same problem withj my 2003 Silverado - change the alternator..it worked for me.
You have to remove the Master Cylinder, disconnect the rod that is connected to the brake pedal and remove the bolts holding the Power Booster on. Connect in reverse order.

take off the belt unplug the wire connector form the back of alternator take the nut off the back of the alternator that holds the wire that is connected to the positive battery terminal and take the two bolts on the bottom of alternator that holds it to the engine
You can if you plan to convert all of your electrical system, starter, lights, gauges and accessories to 24 also. And change your battery to 2 batteries connected in series. Why would you want to??
could be a loose alternator belt or the alternator brushes are very worn if so best to change the alternator also if the signal wire earths somewhere the battery/alt light will come on
