If it's not the fuse (see owners manual for which one) then now is the perfect opportunity to get an aftermarket head unit. The Bose units are marginally OK only because the individual speakers have their own Bose amp attached to it.

if the radio came out of same truck nothing is needed to do should be already set up and vin in radio. if you switched radio from another truck into this one it needs to be programmed and set up at a dealer.
ok first thing you need to do is go to a radio store and buy the right plug that is made for your truck.they will tell you there what plug you will need,and everything else is easy from their wires should be color coded then it will be easy to install.

The 1999 GMC stock radio has and auxiliary port on the back of the radio. Plug your sub woofer into the auxiliary port.
The wiring harness for the radio in a 1991 GMC Pickup is going to be behind the radio. The wiring harness is plugged into the back of the radio. The fuse for the radio is in the fuse box located on the driver's side below the dashboard.
