Did you check for any other error codes from your ECM? There are other sensors that may be borderline bad - but not enough to set an error code. There are also engine components or adjustments that may be out of whack but not enough to cause a sensor to set an error code either. The combined effect of several skewed sensor readings gives the engine control computer enough fouled up information to adjust the gas flow and ignition timing to somewhere out in the foul ball area. The GMC shops have diagnostic computers to check your ECM and VOMs to check the sensors. You can do it yourself if you have a VOM and time to go hunting. LOL
because the stater get hot you may need to change the stater
Starter solenoid? Battery not fully charged?
You may need to replace your battery.
Look at the bottom of the engine follow the + battery cable
follow the thick positive wire from the battery and you will find a stater at the end of that rainbow
Try the lower section of engine - follow the + battery cable
Look on the lower section of engine follow the + battery cable
Check to see if the battery is properly grounded, if it isn't the stater won't turn because the circuit is broken.
What does a stater do on a boat
The battery should start getting a charge from the stater. So you have power to run the lights and keep the bike running. Also so to keep restarting the bike.
The stator is located inside the alternator. If you are looking for the starter just follow the positive battery cable from the battery. The other end is connected to the starter.
