As far as i know, the hormones from the shot will remain in your body for about a year. Depending on your body, you might be able to get pregnant within that time but im not sure how safe for the baby that would be. The hormone can cause birth defects so most likely it is best to wait a year.
If you got pregnant on your last depo shot then it should be obvious you can get pregnant taking it.

Some women stop menstruating on depo and they do not get pregnant.

If you start the birth control pill before the last day that you could get Depo on time, you have continuous protection. It's unlikely to get pregnant under those conditions. If you started after the last depo due date, use a backup method for the first seven days of the pill pack.

I was on depo for 1 year. After taking my last shot in April of 2010, I just became pregnant in November. I am 5 weeks now. After taking depo, I switched to Yaz for 1 month to start and regualte my menstrual cycle again. I guess it all depends on your body.
