In 1911, Shipbuilders Magazine describes Olympic and Titanic as "practically unsinkable"and the press and passengers went with it.
It was the ship that was deemed unsinkable. And on one dreary night it did in fact sink after being hit by the ice berg. That shows us nothing is impossible nor indestructible. It was also because many people that were originally coming to visit or immigrate to America died when that ship sank. It also happened quite close to the American shore too, even if it was off the coast of Canada.
no it doesn't
Yes. It was a major event in 1912 and is history.
The ten richest passengers on the Titanic included: John Jacob Astor IV, Benjamin Guggenheim, Isidor Straus, Margaret (Molly) Brown, Archibald Willingham Butt, J. Bruce Ismay (chairman of the White Star Line), Colonel Archibald Gracie IV, Charles Melville Hays, Lady Duff Gordon, and Thomas Andrews (chief designer of the Titanic) Brown, Ismay, Gordon, and Gracie all survived the Titanic. However, Gracie died on December 4, 1912 due to his exposure to hypothermia and injuries. He was the first adult Survivor to have died.
They are an Indian tribe, so I assume at least some survive on Reservations. I can"t see any connection with the Titanic diaster.
The story of Titanic being called unsinkable is a myth. It was only referred to as unsinkable after it sunk.
not a clue
Passengers said "the titanic is unsinkable
that it was an unsinkable ship
No they said it was unsinkable.
The builders of the Titanic never actually said that the Ship was 'unsinkable'. It was just people's interpretations of the articles written about it. Quite simply, any ship can sink really. There is no such thing as 'unsinkable' :) too many compartment's filled up with water, it was only able to have four compartment's full and no more.
it was a huge boat, and when i say huge i mean huge.and when a ships huge ,that means its unsinkable
The people who built it never claimed it was, it was the press & they said it was "nearly" unsinkable....but people took it as unsinkable & the safest ship in the world
Andrew Donkin wrote the Unsinkable Titanic
The ship was said to be enitrly unsinkable, but it ended up sinking.
well on the movie titanic cal said it
the English believed that titanic would be unsinkable because it had the watertight compartments. but the ice-burg they hit caused the first five to flood but titanic could only survive with the first 4 filled up.
