switch, blower, wiring between.Could be that the resistor is not locked into place all the way after you put it in....you really have to cram the aftermarket ones into place and make sure they are snapped in. (have fun getting back at it...they are in the worst place ever)if it only works on 5, it is definitly the resistor. So, put a third one in. Theres probly a water leak into the heater box that's getting onto the resistor, shorting it out
1. heat control linkage disconnected or broken or vacuum source problems(low vaccum source or broken vacuum lines) 2. heater unit doors stuck or non functioning heater door actuators
The source of heat for the system is water/coolant from the radiator circulating through a heater core under the dash. Without the engine running and water circulating, there won't be any heat in the passenger compartment. There is residual heat after turning the engine off, but that won't last long. If the blower fan does not shut off, the resistor has failed.
The blower motor resistor block is located on the underside of the HVAC housing (Heater Box) next to the blower motor. The blower motor is located at the right side of the dashboard. You can access the blower motor resistor block from under the dashboard. A Word of Caution! Stay clear of the blower motor resistor block heat sink - It could be Hot. Incidentally, I have read about people working on their dashboards and setting off the airbag. It is a good thing to disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery and make sure that it can not touch the battery post. Wait at least a couple of minutes for the airbag system to discharge.
Many newer model vehicles have fans that keep running. I would bet yours is supposed to run for a minute or two to assist in cooling.
Go to www.wjjeeps.com and type HVAC in the search box. All the instructions are there. If your heater core is leaking, it has to be replaced. You might try some of the radiator stop-leak products and this may work. The Blend doors have known problem of breaking in this model. Replacing the actuator motor won't help, the blend doors have to be replaced. There is an inexpensive aftermarket product that will address and solve this problem call HeaterTreater. Check on Ebay or www.heatertreater.net for pictures and diagnostic information.
where to find heater resistor 2004
If the blower only works on high the blower resistor is most likely the problem and should be replaced. On rare occasions if the car has blown the resistor more than once the blower motor shouuld be replaced.
Defective heater resistor pack.
Pull blower its up inside hole
Heater Core for sure. Get this replaced and you will have no more problems.
i have an 03 grand prix and yes it was the blower motor resistor also check there is a fuse for fan low and fan high or something like that
Defective heater resistor pack.
Usually if the resistor is bad the heater will only run on full blast.
This happened on my wife's 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. She took it in to Chrysler for diagnostics and they found the blower motor resistor was bad and replaced it. part no# 5143127-AA Resistor Blower - 803502 $11.12 Electrical System Tech labor $149.21 It worked.
passenger side floorboad behind the relay panel in the dash
The blower motor resistor is mounted in the heater box directly behind the dash glove box. Remove the contents of the glove box and push in on both sides of the glove box stops. The glove box door will fold down exposing the resistor. Remove the two screws holding the resistor in the heater box to remove the resistor.
Means that your heater core is leaking coolant. Has to be replaced.
