It should be a 2 bolt main, but without looking at the engine I can't say for sure. if it's a 4-bolt main, it should be cross-bolted and you can tell that without dropping the oil pan.
a four bolt main is far superior and longer wearing. Less vibration and stronger.
2 bolt or 4 bolt main?? is it stock??
can be both ,i have a 350 010 2bolt main
with oil pan off, look at your main bearings on your crank shaft, the cover of the bearing will have one bolt on each side this is two bolt main or two on each side this is four bolt mainAnswerTo tell if a motor has 2 bolt or 4 bolt main caps, you must remove the oil pan and inspect the main bearing caps for the crankshaft. If 2 bolts are present, it's a 2 bolt motor and if 4 bolts per cap are present, it's a 4 bolt motor. Most truck engines are 4 bolt - most low perf car engines are 2 bolt - this isn't always the case, but a good place to start if you're hunting for a particular engine.this is a inboard marine engine still working impossible to remove pan without removing engine . That's why the s\n
NO.
Almost certainly would be a four bolt main block.
It can be either a 2 or 4 bolt
None. The four bolt main block is thought to be more rigid at higher loads.
On a motor 4- bolt or 2-bolt refers to how many bolts are on the main cap what holds the crack. when it comes down to it if your not putting a supercharger on the motor or making to a performers engine, you don't really need a 4-bolt main An 89 would probably have the dipstick below #6. It would most likely be a 4 bolt main, but not guaranteed.
It's a 2 bolt main. it depends on what motor you have in it
The only way to know for sure is to remove the oil pan and look. In reality, I'm pretty sure all of the 427's used in Corvettes were 4 bolt.
To tell if your engine is a 2 bolt main or a 4 bolt main. Turn the engine upside down on an engine stand. Next, count the number of bolts on each main bearing cap. if there are two, then its a 2 bolt main. And if there are4, then its a 4 bolt main. This applies to the three center caps. The front and rear are always 2 bolt.
