either transport the bike to a locksmith or disconnect the ignition and bring it in to a locksmith. You may be able to bring in the helmet lock or the locking gas cap if the key is the same for either or both of them as well. been there done that...so true...you are looking at about 20 dollars...

Try turning the wheel one way or the other to relieve the pressure while tuning the ignition switch. If this does not work then you may either have a worn out ignition swtch, Key, or there is a mechanical failure of the switch.
