Check the internet for R12 alternatives there are several. Freeze 12 is one.
I have a 1985 300ZX non-turbo, owned it since September 1984 (today is Aug 6, 2011). About four years ago I recharged my A/C with R134. I didn't change anything, just loaded in the R134 with a kit from Walmart. I have had no problems and the A/C still blows very cold, and I haven't had to add any more freon at all since that first charge.
