Check the sensor in the brake reservoir give the float a wiggle. Use a multimeter if necessary if constant low reding is given the switch /sensor is no good.
1985
On the brake pedal arm.
The 1983 through to 1985 have a low fuel warning light and no reserve switch. The warning light is hooked to a sensor which is in the secondary fuel tank under the seat.
Check the brake light fuse. If you have 12 volts at the brake light switch I would suspect the signal light switch is at fault.
the brake light fuse is located where the brake pedal is at... just take the cover that it has above the brake pedal and you're gonna see fuses on your left....
It is mounted on a bracket under the dash at the brake pedal. From there it is self explanatory.
With an ohmeter or a self-powered test light. Hook the two leads of your tester to the terminals on the brake light switch. Push down on the brake pedal and if the light stays off or the meter stays at infinity, the switch is bad.
Usually on the upper end of the brake pedal under dash area
This happened to my 1985 Lebaron Conv and all the car needs is a new brake light switch mounted on the brake pedal under the dash. Problem solved!
no, just one solid one, also used as the blinker.
Stop light switch? Most are located at the upper end of the brake pedal under dash area
