I was having a problem in my 1986 Ford diesel. The engine would start immediately even after sitting for weeks, but then would immediately stall. It would then take about a minute of cranking ( two or three 15 -20 second periods of cranking so as to not burn out the starter) and then would finally fire up and be fine until it was left for more than a day. I couldn't find any leaks in the fuel system so I installed an electric fuel pump between the tanks and the engine. It was about $50 at Kraegens. Now I can turn on my "booster pump" for about as long as the glow plugs warm up and the engine starts immediately and settles into a smooth idle.
There are lots of places where someone can buy an injector for a Ford Powerstroke diesel truck. Some of these places are: Black Cloud Diesel and eBay.
Prime a Diesel
to tell what injector is bad when engine is running slowly open the injector line to each injector if the engine stutters then the injector is good if it has no difference then it most likely is bad i had a injector that stayed open completely and you could hear a popping noise because it was pushing air back into the system!! good luck!
will need recoding

The 2006 Ford F2 50 diesel engine might have a bad fuel injector. The injector can cause the engine to not run properly, until the engine warms up.
