the tanks from 1987 to 1994 will be a direct replacement. I believe the 1995 and 1996 tanks are also direct replacements as well. for an upgrade and a larger capacity the tanks starting in 1997 are bigger tanks and will bolt on to the same mounting holes. you'll need to use the tank mount rubber at the back end to match the year of the tank, a petcock to match the tank is also necessary, there's also a vent tube on the right side underneath that will need to be plugged if you use your 1987 gas cap. Additionally the fuel line is tight on the petcock, to relieve this stress you can use the center chrome cover from a 97 or newer spirit 1100 as well, it can be changed without removing anything other than the battery cover and the tool kit cover. I believe the tanks on all of the 1100 shadows are the same after 97. the bigger tank also looks nice on the older shadow. I put a 2005 spirit 1100 tank on my 1987 1100 and changed the middle chrome cover, and petcock, use my original gas cap and plugged the tanks vent. looks and works great. I have discovered that using the newer center cover under the seat area can cause vapor lock since the fuel line is more exposed to the heat from the engine, the best option to relieve the extra stress on the fuel line is to cut the topmost corner off of the original cover on the left side where the fuel line is and then turn the rubber piece on top around so the flatter part is on the fuel line side. Otherwise extra shielding for the fuel line may be necessary as well.
4 gallons
They should as long as they are the same model.
It's a 5 Speed
if i am not mistaken a late model 750 dc shadow holds 2.5 quarts with filter change
They are all in the same repair manual from 1982-1988 so it looks like they will interchange.
For the CB 650, the same gas tank was used on all models from 1982 to 1985.
It depends. The 2.2 and 2.3 liter models (S, Si, SE) share a particular alternator. The 2.2 liter VTEC model uses a different model alternator.
Pontiac manufactured the Solstice, Sunbird and Sunfire model cars. Rolls Royce sold the Silver Shadow model. Dodge sold the Shadow and Spirit models. Plymouth sold the Satellite and Sundance models.
I've had mine at 75mph. I dont much rude fast. This bike has more power in the bottom end of the gears. Nice bike. shifts great. 65 is the nice crusing speed for this one. Still, I find myself looking for 6th gear. I think it will ride at 80 or 85 with real high rpms. Answer: I have an '02 Shadow Spirit 1100 and had it to 110. I previously had my first Shadow 1100, an '85 model, up to 115. These bikes had more to give in speed, but I didn't.
