Here is one way to check and see if fuel pump is working. This will require extra body so that you can kneel down to hear the fuel pump. Have the extra turn the key to the run positon while you are knelling down next to the driverside to hear a buzzing noise coming from the tank. It will only come on for just a few seconds and is for priming the fuel system for start. If you don't hear anything then you will need to lift the hood and find a black cover to the passenger side firewall just over the A/C hose entrance. Under the triangle shape cover there should be some relays and black plastic fuse cover. That black cover is the fuse for the fuel pump. Check to see if blown. If not, then you might want too check with a voltage meter at the pump connection to see if you are getting voltage. Also did you replace the fuel filter? I am not talking about the screen in the tank, but the inline fuel filter that is mounted on the frame under the driverside of the truck. I have seen where that doesn't get replaced like it should. At least twice a year is good. You can check the injectors to see if fuel is coming in by having the extra turn the key and watch for fuel spraying in. If so then you have a different problem, could be computer or ignition. YES to checking all grounds that you can find for the pump as well as the Engine itself. There have been times I have run into that on Fords for their fuel system on earlier T-Birds 80's. If you need more in depth the try the local Library in the reference auto section.
