YES! If you have tried a major tune up to include: spark plugs, distributor cap , rotor, wires, and fuel pump and the truck still idles rough and stalls at stop signs then it is the TFI ignition modual located on the side of the distributor.

Yes , its EDIS ( Electronic Distributorless Ignition System ) so it should have spark plug wires ( I believe in 2000 the 4.6 L went to Coil On Plug - C.O.P. )
The internal hall effect switch could be bad or the module that is bolted to the side of the distributor. Most Advance auto parts stores can test the module for you.
got spark? if ya don't replace your ECM. electronic control module. it is a grey rectangle attached to your distributor. ford's are well known in all makes and models for this failure.
