Double check to make sure you have your spark plug wires in the correct order. If they're out of order (on the wrong plugs) the plugs will fire, but not in the correct order to ignite the fuel. If the wires are on in the correct order, check your ignition timing. Incorrect timing could also cause an engine with fuel and spark to not run. For references on how to check your timing, and what the timing should be, I would obtain a chilton's or hayne's repair manual. It will show you step by step how to do it, what numbers to use, and what tools you will need. Very helpful!

Check engine lights are designed to give a driver warning of a mechanical issue concerning the car. In a 1991 Chevrolet Corsica, if the light comes on while driving after 10 minutes on the highway, it is best to limit driving to prevent further damage. Check the owner manual for reasons the light may be coming on or let a mechanic evaluate the issue.
