The 10 minutes is generally the time it takes to heat up your oil. As it gets to the high temperature, it causes the Crankshaft Sensor to fail. Had this exact issued on my 1989 Bonneville. Easy Test: The CSS is on the bottom right front of the engine with its sensor head in the crankshaft (bottom of serpentine belt). When it is about to temperature of OIL, not water, spray some water on that area of oil pan. You should continue to run fine. Simply replace the $50 part, and you are done. Had this same thing, with just a bit less frequency happen to my 1997 Bonneville! Replaced the CSS and it runs fine.
get your transmission modulator replaced
Check the alternator output with a voltmeter Without engine running and a fully charged battery reading should be about 12.8 volts With engine running reading should be 13.8-14.2 volts May be a bad alternator
See the answer to 2000 Bonneville Neutral Safety Switch Location. Had the same problem and that was my fix. You can install a separate Start Button in the Starter circuit to start the car also.
This was originally my question. It ended up being the fuel pressure regulator.

Had this problem for the last 3 weeks and finally found that I had a bad ground from the battery to engine. Replace that wire.
I had this happen to me. Try to get a wire hanger thru where the front door starts to angle down toward the windshield and use it to push the door unlock button

check the fuel pump ie. presures and a leak back test for the check valve
I don't have an answer, but I am in a similar situation. About once a week, my 96 Bonneville dies. The last time I was travelling at 65 MPH. If I try to start it, it just cranks but won't fire. After waiting about 30 minutes it fires right up and then runs fine until the next episode. I took it in to have it serviced, and after 2 days it was returned to me with no problem found. Everything tests fine and there are no codes generated by the ECM. If anyone has an answer to this problem I'd really like to hear from them.
