if u'v opened the idle compensator on top of ur carb check for leak there
check the carb seat gasket for cracks and check bottom screws some of them will leak if they're not tight enough
where can i find a vacuum line diagram for 1989 ford 2.9 liter engine
1989 Chrysler Lebaron 2.5 engine and you get a lot of oil in your air cleaner compartment what is causing this
There should be a diagram on the underside of the bonnet/hood.
Probably it would be a vacuum line leak
The engine supplies vacuum where needed to operate certain functions. Unless it is a diesel, I never heard of a vacuum pump on a Pontiac Grand Prix.
Remove the vacuum hose from your 1989 Oldsmobile 3.8 liter engine PCV valve. Remove the retaining bolts from the valve. Reverse the process to install the new PCV valve.
It should be in the engine compartment , somewhere near the battery ( or the power distribution box if there is one in your engine compartment )
I really don't think that's possible.
The vacuum system diagram for the '93 Mustang 2.3 Liter engine may be found at the following link: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/repairguides/Ford-Mustang-1989-1993-Repair-Guide/VACUUM-DIAGRAMS/VACUUM-DIAGRAMS/_/P-0900c15
There is no vacuum at the nipple on the EGR VALVE. The Vacuum line that hooks to it should suck your finger when you speed the engine up. That line will come from the TBI ( Throttle Body Injection housing) and hook to the EGR valve, and when the engine RPMs. go up it sucks the EGR VALVE OPEN. UNDERSTAND.
If it has one, it'll be located somewhere in the engine compartment. You want anything more specific, you need to give a model.
Are you checking for a vacuum leak? What I do is start the engine and use a can of carb cleaner and spray it around the engine. Spray it around the hoses, mating surfaces, base of carb or fuel injection and around sensors. If the engine rpm increases in an area start to narrow down in that location. Check for broken hoses or bad gaskets.
