1989 grand marquis has trouble with hills otherwise runs well just passed inspection what should you look for pcv is good suspect vac leak but can't find. also defroster blows under accelation?

On a car this old where you suspect a vacuum leak, the best thing to do is just replace all vacuum hoses under the hood. Cheap repair, and you can bet on a 18 year old car, they all need replacing. Warning: Replace them one at a time as to not get confused. Also replace the large vacuum brake booster hose, and make sure the brake booster is not busted.

I had the same problem and don't remember what I did exactly. Find the manual for a Gran Marquis. The instructions are the same. My mother had a Marquis and this is how I programmed my fobs. Turn the ignition key from off to on (not start) 4 or more times until the light by the rear defroster begins to flash red. Then you can program...you'lll have to do all remotes at once.

I have 2003 Grand Marquis that the AC blows mostly thought the defroster vents and sometimes will alternate to the dash vents but then right back to the defroster vents. What could cause this?
I had the same problem and then the fan quit blowing. It was all controlled by the automatic temperature controller. If I remember correctly it was referred to as a ATC chip. I purchased the chip on line from a used parts outfit somewhere in the north for about $50.00. It is pretty easy to install. It's located on the firewall on passenger side behind a heather hose
