i have a 1988 Ford Bronco XLT 5.0 4x4. The truck will start and idle for about 15 to 30 seconds then acts like it has no fuel and dies.
does your bronco have an external voltage regulator if so i would take it and have it checked
Check the plugs and fuel pump to ensure they are okay. If the car dies before hitting the break, that's an electrical problem.
Start the car, unplug the battery the alternater should power the car. If it dies the alternator is bad. You can also get it checked at any parts store.
try the air sensor and fuel filter if not pay 80bucks and get the diagnostics done at ford
Non-Interference....car just dies if belt breaks, no valve damage.
Have a 1990 Ford Tempo GL, The car dies when you put it into reverse or you come to a stop. have replaced plugs, wires, Idol sensor, and cleaned the injectors. Its still doing it. Sounds like it has to do with the micro-chip in the key. Starts for about 3 seconds and dies. In 1999 Ford installed a micro-chip in the ignition key for Anti-theft purposes. If the chip isn't there, or is malfunctioning, the vehicle starts briefly and dies.
If it has a carb. choke is probably not working properly
The idle sensor needs changed. Just had mines changed, I was having the same problem as you are having
coil packs, fuel pump or pressure regulator
