The computer detects whether the engine is running and turns off the fuel pump in about five to ten seconds if the engine didn't start.
If the engine starts and the fuel pump shuts off anyway, check for diagnostic codes, verify that the relays are working properly and check that the computer is able to determine when the engine is running. BTW, it's probably NOT a problem with the computer.
Probably ignition switch gone bad or the key cylinder itself is bad. Good Luck!!!
start the engine if it runs its good
If your ABS light indicator is not coming on in your 2004 Toyota Highlander model car even when you start the ignition it might be an issue with the electrical system.
For Ignition. Your car will not start if this fuse blows, generally if there is a short.
A common cause for an ABS indicator light not coming on in a 2004 Toyota Highlander even when the ignition is started is electrical issues.
When you turn the key all the way forward to start the vehicle, that not only turns your ignition system on, it also engages the starter and bendix drive. When you release the ignition switch, it returns to the position where the ignition is still hot, but the power to the side of the solenoid that engages the bendix drive is dead.
you can run a ignition diagnostics to check the alternater, starter and the battery, if it wont start, its probably somewhere in one of those
moisture on the ignition coils.spray them with silicon spray.
Turn the wheel all the way to the left and then start the ignition. just found out loll ;)
It could just be your starter...
I would expect that the power for the fuel pump would be supplied through the ignition switch so I would start there, that is check the ignition switch.
To disarm a 1997 Toyota 4Runner factory alarm, place the key in the ignition. Turn the key about halfway ensuring the car does not start. Leave the key in that position for 10 to 15 minutes and start the car.
