1991 Geo Storm 1.6 liter engine single over head cam i know the firing order is 1342 but I'm not sure if I have it correct on the cap end of it. Can you help me?

Looking at the distributor cap, #1 is at top. #3 is to the left. # 2 is to the right and # 4 at the bottom. Firing order goes counter clockwise 1,3,4,2 The distributor cap should also have a mark on the round face designating #1. Some do, some don't, but #1 is closer to the ignition module than 3 and 4.

Firing order is indeed 1-3-4-2. The distributor rotates counter clockwise. If you remove the plugs and turn the engine over until the # 1 plug is at top dead center, (TDC) on the compression stroke, the rotor, (If equipped) will be pointing to the # 1 spark plug.
