If you check the underside of your air intake hose, there should be a plastic box attached to it. If there is just a hole there you will need a new box because the MAF sensor is getting the wrong readings. The only problem is if it backfires through the intake again it'll blow that box apart again. I have blown up 2 already and at $70 Cdn each it's not cheap. I've got my intake wrapped with Gorrilla Tape as a temporary fix until I can find the reason for the backfire. The car runs ok but it's not gonna work long term. I've had it on for a week and no problems so far.
look in the intake right behind the water intake where it goes into the intake the firng order should be imprinter on the intake.
Right under the intake manifold. Above the starter. Tucked in there you will see a yellow/red wire leading right to it.
on top of transmission right behind upper intake. just follow the hose from the resivoir.
it is located on the mass air flow censor on the intake. it is connected right on the out side of it.It has 5 wires running to it.
The plastic, black box to the right of the engine is the air intake box. The Intake Air Temperature sensor is plugged in by a rubber grommet on the fender-side of the air box. It comes out with a simple pull.
The EGR valve is located at the right rear corner of the intake manifold, near the firewall. before unbolting the EGR valve, disconnect the vacuum line. - Mazda Repair Manual
In Japanese, Mazda means... Mazda.Oddly enough, in Spanish, Mazda means... that's right, Mazda. In Japanese, Mazda means... Mazda.Oddly enough, in Spanish, Mazda means... that's right, Mazda.
The BOV for a 1987 Mazda RX 7 Turbo II is located on the top mount inter cooler pipe from the turbo to the air intake pipe right after the air box, just above a vacuum source. By simply disconnecting the BOV from the intake tube befor the turbo but after the intake box, you get the air pressure release sound commonly heard on many "tuner" cars.
The EGR is right under the throttle body. It has like a little black top. You have to remove the intake hose to see it. Its a pain to get to and remove.
it will be right underneath the intake manifold.
Underneath the intake manifold. If you remove the front right wheel, you'll see it up behind the fender. For owners with thinner arms, you could remove the oil filter from the engine bay, reaching under the intake manifold.
The horn is behind the right headlight. It looks like a black drum or rubber plate. * on my '93 it is mounted on the firewall passenger side behind the intake manifold. The horn is behind the right turn signal. If you remove the right yellow turn signal light, it's right there.
