The EGR is right under the throttle body. It has like a little black top. You have to remove the intake hose to see it.

Its a pain to get to and remove.

The EGR valve is connected above the water hose on the 2002 Mazda Millennia. The EGR valve is responsible for lowering the temperature of the fuel.

The egr position sensor is made into the egr valve. Look for the egr valve and you will find a plug with wires plugged into the egr valve. These wires are for the position sensor and they go back to the ecm ( engine control monitor)< computer> James= 15 year Mazda tech just a tip= with engine COLD,reach under valve and press on plunger and see if it moves freely(not easy) but freely. Remove the vacuum line than attach it to the EGR. With the valve open and lifted, suck on the line and spray on the valve. You should also have a new gasket to replace the existing one. Check all the hose connections

it's a common problem for proteges5, the EGR valve needs to be cleaned

It happened to me last week. Turned out to be the EGR valve that was not moving anymore. This valve is used when the motor is in idle which is why the motor was running almost fine when I was putting gas...

I Called the Mazda dealer today and talked with the Mazda Tech and asked him the location of the EGR valve on the 1992 Mazda b2600i. According to the tech only the California models have an EGR valve, I would think that any state with similar laws about vehicle emmisions would require the egr valve also. My truck is from Montana and it doesn't have an egr valve which explaines why I havent been able to find it.

The EGR valve is located at the right rear corner of the intake manifold, near the firewall. before unbolting the EGR valve, disconnect the vacuum line. - Mazda Repair Manual

The 2003 Pontiac Montana EGR valve is located on the firewall. The valve will be on the driver side of the firewall.

An EGR valve usually can't be cleaned. If you want to try to clean it, us Combustion Chamber Cleaner on it. If this doesn't work then the cost of an EGR Valve from the dealer is about $275.00 Can. I have had to replace my EGR valve about 2 months ago and I wasn't able to find an after market replacement.

Either there is no Voltage or Vacume going 2 the Valve OR the Passagway under the Valve is Blocked. Clean the EGR Line with carb cleaner to ensure not any blockage. If you are referring to the check engine light and are still receiving a code indicating EGR valve, then the problem is that the EGR valve is being effected by the problem. The EGR valve is not the problem, it is just the component that is being effected. Code readers only tell you the effected part, not necessarily the bad part. This is one of the big problems with autozone's free diagnostics, you get what you pay for.

The EGR valve on a 2003 Grand Prix 3.1 Liter is located in the rear of the engine on the driver's side. The EGR valve will be connected to the exhaust pipe and is usually located near the end of it.

With 2.5 engine it will be on the rear lower of back head. It is an electronic EGR valve with a 6pin plug going to it.
