All 1991 Jeep Wranglers have a tank that can hold 20 gallons. HOWEVER- the 20 gallon option was only available on the upgraded models. All others held 15. If you search for Jeep & Obie-wan's home page you should be able to find a nice how-to article to covert the 15 gallon tank into a 20 gallon. In a nutshell, there is a longer vent hose in the 15 gal that only allows 15 gals to be put in before shutting off the pump. This article shows how to remove the hose & clip it so the tank will allow 20 gallons to get put in. The bad thing then is the sending unit in the tank is still for 15 gallons so will probably not read correctly. I did this several years ago & am happy cause it can hold 20 gallons. I use my trip odometer to determine when it needs to be filled. I usually get between 325-350 miles per tank- I get between 16- 17 mpg overall driving & more on road trips. I have pulled as high as 21 mpg taking it easy on a road trip (OK my wife was driving- I like to use the perfomance mods I added and we were doing around 60 mph cause I was driing another vehicle with a large camper).
