Type your answer here... you will need to take the yoke off the front diff. and count the teeth on it. if it has 28 teeth its a 28 spline or if it has 30 teeth its a 30 spline
no considering the front is more boxy and wider in the front. the 1990 bumper is rounded to fit the 88-98 pickups , the suburban kept the box style until 1991. your best bet would be to find a 1973-1987 silverado, custom deluxe, cheyenne, or bonanza bumper or a suburban bumper from a 1973-1991 suburban
One transmission that will fit a 1991 Chevy Suburban is a 4L80E transmission.
Suburban Commando was created on 1991-10-04.
Its a 46LE or a 700R4.Blurb on this transmission-The 700R-4 was later renamed as the 4L60. They are both the same transmission. However, the 4L60-E is different. It is fully electronic and controlled by a Powertrain Control Module, hence the addition of the "E" on the end. Same internals as the 700, just now its controlled by a PCM instead of a governer and TV Cable.From- 3rdgen.orgThat answer is not correct.A 700r4 is like a turbo 350 but, with a four speed instead of 3. The electronic version is called a 4l60e. I have an 89 V2500 suburban with a turbo 400 and a 91 V2500 with a 4l80e. The 91 V2500 came with the 4l80e (first year of that tranny). The 4l80e is just like a th400 but, electronic and with a 4th gear. That should help
It acts like it is stuck,And I have to be carefull not to grab the boot and pull on it.I'm just pulling on the metal bearing cup with the spline towars the transmission..Should I try and pry it with some kind of bar,Or is that metale ring at the end of the spline holding the shaft in?

Slide in under the truck behind the passenger side front wheel and look up at the rear side of the engine and you will see the starter.
You can find the wiring diagram for a 1991 Suburban at various auto part stores. You can also check in the owner's manual.
With some fabrication, you could make it fit; but completely stock it won't. Even if it did, the body styles are different. Keep in mind that the body style of the suburbans were the same from 82' all the way to 1991, then they switched to the GMT400 that lasted to 2000. The GMT400's front clip is slightly angled for a more 'aerodynamic' look, while a 1990 Suburban's front clip is completely straight.
