Try replacing the speedometer switch on the transmission.. that's probably your culprit.
yes. the neutral safety switch is connected to all of them.
Standard or automatic transmission??? In most vehicle situations the switch unscrews out of the likage side of the transmission.
Need to replace the neutral safety switch on the side of the transmission But need someone to scan the trans. First with a engine scanner. To make sure that is the problem. It could also be a bad speed senser.
the speedometer switch is located at the rear of the diferential, remove wires clean and refit, that should cure it.
The speedometer drive is not installed on all 4-speed transmissions. On models with the transmission drive installed, the speedometer cable attachment point is on the front left side of the transmission, about midpoint vertically on the case. There is a part mounted on the front that the speedometer cable screws on to. If you look down below the shifter linkage in the vicinity of the starter solenoid, you will be able to see the location of the speedometer drive below the neutral switch. On some models, the mounting boss has not been machined and is blocked off. This was typically done on FX models.
install a new starter on and some time when i turn the switch on it will not start up what could it be
Switch on the side of the transmission was bad. Possible output speed sensor, it is on the left side of the transmission towards the rear. Two wires in the connecter.
Inhibitor switch reduces engine power to avoid shock while automatic transmission changing gears
On a 98 Chevy Tahoe, the transmission fluid pressure switch is located on the valve body. It is found to the right of the engine.
You probably have a bad speedometer switch.
The oil pressure switch is on the side of the engine near the transmission. The switch screws into the side of the block.
