The problem is probably in the steering gear. Clogged passages in steering gear. Leaks in steering gear.
probably not the alternator if it happens when only turning its gotta be the power steering or steering rack make sure everything is greased up could be the PS pump going out
Many things can cause that, the simplest cause being lack of power steering fluid.
Low power steering fluid or you need a lube job.
when turningright,it could cut out because of power steering, make the revs drop, check fluid level
It is your power steering reaching its stop but since you are still turning the wheel it is trying to go further Turning your steering wheel as far as it will turn to the left or right for over 5 seconds can ruin your power steering pump.
A loose or worn belt. Also check the power steering fluid.
The problem is your rack and pinion .
Try checking the power steering fluid. My taurus did the same thing until i filled the power steering fluid.
The power steering pump is working hard and the engine is only idling. It could be the harmonic balancer
Turning to the right, when going forward, you turn the steering wheel towards the right.
Could be the power steering pump.
Check the fluid in your power steering pump. Or it could be the bearing it's self in the pump going bad causing the motor lag as it pumps fluid.
