Checked the BAC valve, checked the fuel pump pressure, cleaned the ECU connectors, checked the air temp sensor.
Then I found the problem.
The water thermo sensor was bad on the engine block.
ye it dose without it the starter cant turn and it wont start
a sticking cable at throttle body or a idle air control sensor. check to make sure throttle, is not sticking at throttle plate.
I know about the starter and ignition, but I click the ignition and then it clicks, then when I press and hold the starter it starts then immediatly stalls, I have tried it in neutral, in gear, with clutch, without clutch, with clutch and throttle.
The starter's located directly below the air intake throttle body, on top of the transmission. Removing and reinstalling the starter is not that complicated, the bolts are a little difficult to access, but I did it myself without any real complications. Just be sure to disconnect the battery first.
No, an electrical starter can not turn without an electrical source.
Use a condomn and birth control, if worst comes to worse get a morning after pill at you local pharmacy
does it stall when you stop? like at a light.the most common stalling without tripping the check engine light is the idle air control motor.they get lazy and slow when you let off the throttle they control the air flow to the throttle body for proper idle.the iac is located on the back of the throttle body.remove it and see how filthy it is.clean it and the hole it lives in with throttle cleaner.if its really filthy this may fix it.if not get a new one.if not at a stop shoot me a message I'll try to help
Just to be sure, the air idle control valve is a little plunger device mounted on the throttle body that regulates the idle speed. This a fairly easy procedure. It is possible to remove it without removing the throttle body but is a lot easier with the throttle body off. Loosen the clamps on the air duct and remove the duct. Carefully pull off all vacuum lines and disconnect the plug to the throttle position sensor and the idle control valve. The control valve is the one at the bottom of the throttle body. Remove the two bolts holding on the throttle body and remove the throttle body. The accelerator cable end should slide right out. On my vehicle the throttle body separated from the gasket cleanly. If the gasket tears apart you will have to scrape the old one off and replace with a new one. Best get a new gasket with the control valve. Now remove the two torx screws holding the control valve and pull it out. The new control valve should have the plunger fully retracted. If it is not then carefully push it down before installing. Insert the new one being careful to not bind the O ring. Reverse the above for assembly.
yes,but it w ill not run without computer control and happily your 82 is computerless
A throttle body can be cleaned without removal. Several spray cleaners for throttle bodies are available at your local auto parts.
yes, special tube lights without starter are available which do not require a spark.
Fuel Pressure is low or the ECU is not able to control the idle from the sensors. If it is an old vehicle without an ECU, you can adjust the idle on the throttle body itself to be higher.
