I just got a 1994 STS and the temp seems to be at 215-226 city driving with the a/c on in 95 degree weather. Seems hot to me, maybe that's what the car needs to run at for the emissions. If this is normal I'll live with it.
only the 1993 had it
The starter on a 1993 cadillac assuming that it has a 32 valve northstar the starter is underneath the intake manifold
the starter will be found under the intake if the engine is a northstar.
nine quarts of oil for the northstar.
The best ignition wires for the Northstar are the factory recommended AC/Delco OEM replacements. Anything else and you're asking for trouble.
Is this a Northstar 4.6? if so.....I have never found a petcock on one. There is a threaded plug on drivers side at bottom.....good luck getting to it while in car.
The 4.6 Northstar has an entirely different transmission than the 4.9l. Introduced in 1993 the Northstar is an OHC aluminum V8 and the 4.9 is an old style push rod engine. They have different engine management systems and are not compatible without changes. It can be done but requires a tranny and computer swap.Dave H
Northstar engines were first installed in 1993 model year cars. The first version of the Northstar engine was produced from 93-99. The engine was redesigned in 2000
both are under forward exhaust manifold.
Most likely the engines thermostat is stuck closed. Probably low coolant level. No flow, no heat. Now where did the coolant go ??
its under the intake manifold if its a northstar
It is located near the front of the motor, near the thermostat, screwed into the block.
