That is fine. The cooling fans don't even come on until the coolant reaches 224. (or when the AC is on). Don't worry. Make sure the coolant is changed out every couple or three years, and you'll be fine.

im pretty sure every northstar has the starter located under the intake plenum in the lifter valley between the heads. youll have to take off the intake to see it, it pokes through the flywheel cover at the top of the transmission. hope this helps.

You need to follow the instructions from Cadillac and use the treatment pills with the coolant EVERY time. Otherwise you can run into problems ranging from a bad water pump to a blown head gasket.Early northstar engines were ignored by owners,...no premium fuel,...no coolant treatment. FARRR more reliable than Toyota (See any JD POWERS since 1992) and much faster to boot. David H
