sounds like it could be the clockwork spring that is in the stering colum you have to remove the stering whell to get at this and it is a dealer only part
Check the alternator.
nearly dead battery It also could be a faulty solenoid(located on the firewall) or the starter could be defective. ATTN: this is a very common problem with all Fords, clean your battery terminals, any debris or build up can cause this, take the pos and neg off, scrub the battery terminals , and you cable connections with a wire brush, do not get the debris on your self it is battery acid build up, if u do rinse with lots of water, this should fix your problem, should start, if not make sure battery is properlly charged!!!Plugz!!
If your Ford Aerostar is overheating and losing water, it may be a bad radiator. You need to take your car in to get serviced.
sounds like typical transmission problem
Right behind the battery in the engin department... i had a similar problem
Pull the positive battery cable off for a few minutes. Or, hook up a scanner and clear the codes. The light will probably come back as there is an emmission problem most likely.
Hi, The problem with your pass side window is the drivers side power window switch. I have had this same problem on my 1993 Aerostar.
This sounds like a starter problem with commutator or brush problems. joedi
yes it does and it is located by the battery and if it is blown you may need an ac compressor they have a problem with locking up
This could be a result of a number of things. Auto Zone can definitely help with this problem if you take it to the store located nearest to you. The most likely problem is that there is a bad cell in the battery which means you would need to buy a new one.
i changed a transmission over from an 88 aerostar to a 93 aerostar, the only problem i had was with the shifter . the shift cable on the 88 was a floor shift and the 93 was on the steering coloumn. all aerostars have a plate on the floor where a floor shift can be installed. i removed this plate and installed the floor shifter from the 88 into the 93 problem solved ....hope this helps
If you get anywhere near the battery *located in the front* or the electrical system, then yes, you have a problem. other than that, not really
