Fuel pump bad, Fuel pump relay not working, Fuel pump fuse bad.
The computer uses it to control the power supply to the fuel pump, injectors, and ignition coil.
Either "FIRE" or "FUEL". Things to check with fuel...the pressure and the injectors.Low fuel pressure or clogged or leaking fuel injectors, fuel pressure regulator and possibly the fuel filter. When it comes to "Fire" it could be many things.Check the ignition control module, coolant temp sensor, the MAP sensor, crankshaft sensor, camshaft sensor,IAT sensor.Even incorrect gap at the spark plugs could cause starting problems. But, I would suspect the fuel not reaching the combustion chamber correctly.(Fuel Pressure or injectors not spraying right) If that checks out, it would be the ignition control module(which should be checked first).
This is a device that measures the pressure of the fuel that is to be delivered to the fuel injectors. This measurement is used by the engine control computer to determine how long the injectors need to be driven open to deliver a specific amount of fuel.
The computer uses it to control the power supply to the fuel pump, injectors, and ignition coil.
I've reading alot on this latley, and seem to be having the same problem. I believe it can. I am going to replace my ignition control module tonight and see if my injectors then start working on my K2500 7.4
the high pressure oil pump supplies the oil to the rails mounted over the injectors in the valve covers and there is two sensors that control the pressure ipr and ipc located on pass side valve cover the ipr is behind the turbo in the high pressure pump cover
CLEAN THE INJECTORS. OR HAVE THE INJECTORS CLEANED BY A GM TECH.
Some controlled devices by the ECU (ECM) would be, fuel injectors, idle air control (IAC) valve, fuel pump relay, linear EGR solenoid valve, electronic ignition control module, fuel tank vapor pressure sensor, a/c compressor relay, evaporative emissions (EVAP) canister purge solenoid, to name a few.
There are several possible reasons why your car's engine stalls: 1. Failing ICM Ignition control module 2. Failing CPS crankshaft position sensor 3. Failing ECM engine control module 4. Not enough fuel pressure to open the fuel injectors
the ignition control module or (power transsistor ) its located between the injectors on the intake its a little black box it the first thing i would replace do a long such for the cheapest price as some places seem to price these high try www.rockauto.com
Possible reasons the fuel injectors are not working: Faulty ECM (engine control module, computer) Faulty fuel injector(s). Fuel injectors clogged. Insufficient fuel pressure. Bad Ground. Faulty wiring otherwise.
Might want to check the Idle Air Control valve. Also check the fuel pressure.
