Check for proper fuel pressure in the 1997 Talon. The engine appears to be starving for fuel and only has enough pressure to start.
Needs a tune up?
Try a new battery, or get a jump start. Sometimes there is not enough power in the battery to start the engine.
Hi this has happend to me after i rebuilt my motor in my talon. I own a 96 eagle talon esi and what i found that was the problem is that the plugs were not sparking either at all or not hot enough. Try replacing your plugs with a double platinum plug. My talon started right up after i changed the plugs. I have not yet to find a reset for the computer. Usally if you disconnect the battery then connect it back it resets the computer.
u need to replace the starter solenoid
There are several types of cars sold in the United States that start with 'E'. One is El Dorado by Cadillac. Another is Eclipse by Mitsubishi and Eagle Talon by Dodge.
Start at the upper rad hose and follow it to where it connects to the motor. Pull off the hose and undo the bolts there and the thermostat is right there. If not then someone left it out.
The Oxygen sensor, or the IAT Sensor is telling you Ecu to shut down the car. Its running to hot. Or you have a pressure hose that has a leak or has come off.
I had the same issues with my 1995 eagle talon and if you have the battery unhooked, the car takes up to 40 or so miles for everything to reset, ie, air fuel mixture, computer, etc. It gets better the more miles you drive it after it has been unhooked. Also, I had issues with my o2 sensor going bad which caused some hesitation.
crank sensor also check cam angle sensor
its the fuel pump check the relays and wiring and then have your try changing your pump.
