not sure about the specific question itself, but if you are wanting to replace the aftermarket with a CD player for say, i have been looking for an adapter to be able to remove the face place and climate controls. I have a 2004 Taurus. Ultimate Electronics has em. its cut out for the CD player and has the climate controls attacted allowing you to be able to slide in an aftermarket player. for one you will need the ford/mercury stereo removal tools. its a two pronged tool that you simpley slide in the two hole that's located to the left and to the right of your stereo. I have installed an amp and subwoofer. I don't know where else to get an output converter but it hooks up to your rear speakers and has outputs for an amp. Walmart has them for i think $20 bucks, so if you are not able to put one in, the aftermarket experience will definatley enhance your music. if you have any further questions the Taurus for i have had any kinda trouble you can think of feel free to email me at justblueeyes89@gmail.com
