I suspect that the security module has developed a defect which is causing the alarm malfunction on your vehicle. I had this happen to my 95 and as it got worse it also would shut the vehicle down completely at times too.
My fix, since I never used the alarm anyway, was to just simply unplug the Security Module black box from under the dash. That solved the problem completely and didnt affect any other system on the vehicle. You'll have to get down under the dash to find this box.....its about 4 inches by 3 by 2 and it does say Security Module on the outside.
I hope this works for you but for sure is the least expensive easiest fix that you can do.
Good luck !!!
Hi, I had this problem with my '93 and found that the problem was the worn switch or broken wiring in the door. Try using the key at the passenger door or (the only one that worked for me) the lift-gate door. Eventually, the best fix is to just get a replacement remote and program it to the vehicle. I hope this helps you.
My 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee has the issue that if I lock all the doors with the automatic lock. I can't unlock the door on the driver side with the key without the Security Alarm going off. To resolve this issue, I have to go to the passenger side, unlock the door there with the key, then go around to the driver side and open the door on the driver side with the key.
the only way we have found to reset the security was too lock the driver door, then using your key, unlock the driver door. repeat as ness. the only way we have found to reset the security was too lock the driver door, then using your key, unlock the driver door. repeat as ness.
If you can not unlock them with a key, you will have to call a locksmith.
Use the key to unlock the driver side door. This will reset the alarm and the starter cutoff. i took the modul that chimes for doors out and mine stop the alarm.
Well, have to click the botton to unlock it
Lock and unlock the driver door with the remote if the alarm is on because of a disconnected battery.
You can't anymore.
The hubs do not lock/unlock. It is a direct connection from the axle shaft to the hub/bearing.

Mmm
The driver door does not unlock the power locks for a few reasons. This motor could be burned out or the wires could not be attached correctly.
Have you replaced the battery in the fob?
