sounds like you have a problem with your charging system (alternator) a lot of diffrent auto parts and repair stores I.E Walmart , sears , napa offer free charging system checks
Have your alternator and battery tested. and replaced if required.
Park brake light - might mean the e-brake pedal is slightly moved down to initiate light. Battery light - means the alternator is bad or battery bad etc. Parking brake light also comes on when the brake fluid runs low... This happened on a 2003 kia Rio the next day the car died it is either because of a bad battery, alternator or alternator fuse
It's possible the alternator is bad resulting in it not having enough output to recharge the battery. Most auto parts stores such as AutoZone or O'Reiley's will test your alternator for you right there in the parking lot for free in a minute or two.
Kia vehicles tend to turn these lightson together when there is a charging issue such as the alternator, battery or cable connections.
Either battery or alternator going bad, Advance Auto, or Auto Zone can check this for you! This happened to my truck, but my memory is not to good! More likely the alternator. yeah this happened to me on the freeway, i figured the computer needed to be reset but when the brake and battery lights go on, the alternator is going bad and you might have a half day of driving before it drains your battery
The battery light stays on when the alternator is over or under charging. The red brake light stays on when the parking brake is set or the fluid is low. The abs light stays on when the abs computer detects a malfunction and sets a code.
FYI - I had a bad alternator. Apparently, a failed alternator may/can/will cause the battery AND brake warning lamps to come on. Alternator has been replaced, and all warning lamps cleared.
Sounds like voltage regulator (located in alternator) is defective. It's the alternator. The same alerts occurred in my 2006 Sonata.
The battery on a vehicle is primarily used only for starting the vehicle and providing power for such things as parking lights, radio etc for when the vehicle is switched off and stationary. The vehicle, when started and running will happily provide its own required electrics by means of its alternator/generator ! Todays alternators require power from a battery to excite the alternator into producing power unlike the old generators.
Replace the brushes in alternator. refer to the haynes manual on how to do it.
No
If the parking lights are on when the car is off its probably a switch issue.
