1996 Jaguar xjs trunk latch is broken I believe the link between lock and Latch broke How do you get in trunk?

There's no way without damage if the link has fallen off. Probably best to remove number plate and cut a hand-sized hole in bootlid behind. You should then be able to feel the linkage and pull it up. It's very stiff though. Don't try to lever the boot up, the latch is very strong and you'll do more damage than cutting a hole.
