1996 Mazda 626 when you turn the car on there is a squealing noise that seems to come from a certain belt I sprayed some belt lubrication on it and so far it hasn't squealed but why is it squealing?

The belt has worn on the edges and creates friction which causes squealing. Also, sometimes when a belt is cold it will squeal.
