1996 Renault megane 1.6 8v problems. engine cuts out when slowing down at junctions when i restart it there is a strong smell of petrol runs like a bag of bolts problem is intermitant any ideas?

check your fuel line from the tank for any holes and also clean any in line filters on the fuel line

Hi I am having exactly the same problem - except that I have not changed the battery recently.
