It could be either a bad water pump or a clogged hose or a bad heater core or it could be a clogged or bad radiator.
A 1996 Ford Ranger could be equipped with a passenger side airbag ( SRS ) * so maybe yes and maybe no * All the 1996 Ford Ranger models have a drivers side airbag
most likely daytime running light module is malfunctioning
most likely fuel pump is not running, this could mean bad fuel pump, but first i would check all fuses and relays related to the fuel pump
Something else is causing the light to come on. Have the codes read.
