Look for an obvious coolant leak. If you don't see one, pull the engine oil dipstick and examine the oil. If the oil is milky you probably have a blown head gasket. Do not continue to drive it.
it could be the themostat housing gasket
White smoke is an indicator you have a head gasket leak. The white smoke is actually water or coolant mixing into the combustion chamber with the fuel and air. Have you noticed a bit of a rough idle? Have you looked at your coolant level lately?
Increased glare from lights, especially oncoming headlights when driving at night.
The excess drained out of the overflow until it was down to the level it should be...
form_title=Replace the Coolant Fluids form_header=The fluids in the cooling system need to be replaced regularly. When was the last time you go your coolant flushed?=_ If the thermostat needs to be replaced, would you like me to install a new one?= () Yes () No Have you noticed any leaks in your radiator?= () Yes () No
I should have stated that the jug appeared halved internaly.
i had the same prob i have a 97 Vw beetle and i noticed the coolant looked muddy and very thick smelt like oil i was told it was normal two days latter my red light turned on letting me know it was over heating, so i took it to the vw car dealers and it came up that i needed a new oil cooler coolant reservoir and a complete coolant and the radiator flushed
Have you noticed your engine temperature gauge running cooler than normal ? A thermostat that is sticking open will make the engine run cooler and cause the P0125 trouble code , also - coolant level low - faulty engine coolant temperature sensor
If it is a 2.7 litre engine and the engine temperature is normal, you probably have a low coolant level and the coolant system needs to be bled. The heater core and top of the engine sit higher than the radiator and air bubbles are trapped there and not allowing the water to pass. At the top of the engine, just left of the intake manifold, you will see a small bleeder assembly. Place a clear hose on the tip and open the valve letting the water run back in to the radiator storage cannister until all the air bubbles have stopped passing through the hose. You may have add additional coolant and you may have to bleed the system more than one time, especially after driving the car again. If you have noticed the engine coolant temperature guage fluctuating when you are driving, that is usually a good sign the coolant level is low. The temperature sensor sits right next to the bleed valve, so if there is air trapped in the system, it shows the temperature to be low or cold.
Be sure the battery connections are clean and tight.
Show people your penis, but when you see a cop throw a towel over yourself :)
Do you mean P0125 ? Insufficient coolant temperature for closed loop fuel control The causes could be : low engine coolant level leaking or stuck open thermostat malfunctioning ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor Have you noticed your engine temperature gauge running cooler ? If so it is most likely the thermostat sticking open
