The connectors for that side of the vehicle may be damaged. There may also be a problem with the fuse going to the headlamp.
Check the ground wire for proper connection to back of globe and to chassis.
There is a bad ground in your headlight wiring i had the exact same problem with my 98 cavalier. Not sure which ground it is because there is a few of them.

According to the 2005 Ford Expedition Owner Guide : Low beam headlamp ( # 9006 bulb ) High beam headlamp ( # 9005 bulb )
low beam - 9006 high beam - 9005 according to the owners manual
Because there are two light bulbs and the low beam bulb is burned out
i was wondering whether the switch at the parking brake could affect this problem.
TRY CHECKING TO SEE IF YOU HAVE A HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHT OUT. tHIS WILL CAUSE THE PROBLEM YOU HAVE.
pull off the cover plate above the headlamp, pull up the two long tabs the headlamp will fall forward then turn the bulb harness the bulb will be exposed. pull it out put the new one in and reverse the process.
