Most vehicles smoke because they are burning oil in cylinders and the oil is getting into the cylinders because the piston rings are worn in any engine but the 3.0 The Dodge 3.0 engines had a bad problem with the valve guides/seals wearing out. If your 3.0 smokes a lot worse when you first start it or after you are idling at red lights that is the valve guides. Some synthetic oils or additives will ruduce the smoke but only rebuilding the heads will stop the smoke.
